You can connect for your email via SMTP, POP3, HTTP asnd IMAP

Mail can be downloaded into your software and off the server, or kept on the server and referenced from your PC, so that it can also be read from elsewhere, like webmail.

Some customers will leave copies of emails on the server for a certain numbner of days, so only the latest emails are retained.
